REMEMBERING OUR VETERANS
It occurred to me the other day as I was talking with my kids (grades 10, 9 and 7) that in their memory they have never known a time when we did not have troops deployed in active war zones. Since first grade the've been reading Time For Kids articles and seeing photos of soldiers deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
It all seems very normal to them, and perhaps they take it for granted a little having known nothing different.
This thought inspired me to put together this little page to show appreciation for our veterans, past and present, and to hopefully inspire you to have a conversation with your kids about why vets do what they do, their service and sacrifice, and what it all means to us as Americans. I hope you enjoy it.
Lakelands Park PTSA wishes to thank all our men and women in uniform who have given and continue to give so much to our country to protect our freedom and way of life that we so often take for granted.
